PEDRO DE LA ROSA
Pedro De La Rosa is a Spanish former racing driver, who is currently a Global Ambassador for the Aston Martin Formula 1 team.
Known as the ‘Barcelona Bullet’, following a successful racing career spanning 24 years (highlights including podiums in Formula 1 and Championships in Formula Nippon and Super GT), Pedro De La Rosa is a renowned name in motorsports.
De La Rosa started his career in Europe, winning four Championships in the junior formulae, before moving to Japan where he went on to win the Japanese Triple Crown between 1995 and 1997.
Pedro returned to the international racing circuit and to the pinnacle of the sport, Formula 1, where he raced for Arrows and scored a world championship point on his first start by finishing sixth at the Australian Grand Prix. The Spaniard went on to race with the Jaguar Formula 1 Team in 2001 and 2002, before moving across to the McLaren Formula 1 Team to act as Test Driver from 2003-2009. When Juan Pablo Montoya was injured, De La Rosa raced at the 2005 Bahrain Grand Prix, finishing fifth and setting the fastest lap of the race. In 2006 he scored his first podium at the Hungarian Grand Prix, finishing second to Jenson Button.
In 2010, the Spaniard drove for the Sauber Formula 1 Team before returning to McLaren as Test and Reserve Driver in 2011. In 2013, De La Rosa was recruited by the Ferrari Formula 1 Team for a developmental role.
After a long and successful career in Formula 1, De La Rosa joined Team Aguri in the FIA Formula E Championship in 2015-2016. He went on to act as Technical Advisor for the newly named team DS Techeetah Formula E Team and under his guidance, the team won the Formula E Driver Championship Title back to back in 2018 and 2019 and Team Championship Title in 2019.
In 2022, De La Rosa was appointed as an Global Ambassador for the Aston Martin Formula 1 Team.
