LUCAS DI GRASSI

Lucas Di Grassi is a Brazilian racing driver, who currently drives for Lola Yamaha ABT in Formula E.

FIA Formula E World Champion, Lucas Di Grassi, has driven in Formula E since the first ever race of the Championship in Beijing, and finished as one of the top 3 drivers in the first five seasons of Formula E.  

Born in Sao Paulo in 1984, Lucas began his motorsport career driving karts at his uncle's kart shop in Interlagos and made his competitive karting debut at the age of 10, winning his first karting championship in 1997. Various single-seater categories and wins followed, including a victory in the Macau Grand Prix and becoming Vice Champion in the GP2 series in 2007.

In 2010, Lucas’ talent took him to the pinnacle of the sport, Formula 1, where he raced with Virgin Racing F1 Team. In 2012, Lucas Di Grassi became an Audi factory driver, clinching three podium finishes in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In 2014, Di Grassi was the first driver to commit to the FIA Formula E Championship, playing a founding role in the Series alongside the Championship Founder and CEO Alejandro Agag.  

Off track, the Brazilian is a Harvard alumni, Founder of the Zero Summit, Founder of eSC, a UN Environmental Ambassador for clean air, as well as a Global Ambassador for EY, ABB, Julius Bär and Enerzee.
