Allan McNish is a Scottish former racing driver, who is currently a commentator for the FIA Formula E Championship.

With a highly-successful career spanning from karting to Formula 1, including three victories at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans and winning the FIA WEC World Championship, Allan McNish is one of the most respected and liked personalities in the dynamic and competitive world of motorsport.

Rarely seen without a smile on his face, the Scot has always been one of motorsport’s most naturally engaging and entertaining characters, making him a favourite of media and fans alike. Off-track, this has led to media roles with BBC F1, BBC Radio 5 Live, Sky Sports F1 and SPEED TV, where he has shared his sporting insight with millions of viewers and listeners.

From his first taste with Constructors' Champions McLaren at the age of 19 in 1989, Allan’s Formula 1 involvement spans almost 15 years, racing for Toyota along with test driver roles with Benetton, McLaren and Renault.

Allan is among sports car racing's elite. With Porsche and Audi, he joined an exclusive club of three-time winners of the notoriously demanding 24 Hours of Le Mans, became FIA WEC World Champion with Audi, won three American Le Mans Series titles, and is the most successful British driver in America’s revered Sebring 12 Hour with four wins.

McNish went on to be the Team Principal of the Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler Formula E Team in the FIA Formula E Championship; winning the Team Championship in his first year in the role.

Following Audi’s exit from Formula E in 2021, Allan has continued to work with the manufacturer on their Formula 1 project, along with acting as commentator for the FIA Formula E Championship.
